Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?

Our 2nd Annual “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner was a huge success. This years event took place at Houndslake Country Club on October 10, 2008. Guests were treated to a 54 items silent auction, martini tasting, a wonderful dinner and our secret entertainment, Broadway Star and recording artist Rob Evan accompanied by musical director, Julliard graduate and pianist Dan Riddle. The evening was magical with songs from some of Broadway’s biggest hits. Proceeds from this annual event support the Aiken Technical College Foundation’s student scholarship fund.

Rob Evan, This is the Moment
Rob Evan starred in the original Broadway cast of Jekyll & Hyde, playing the title roles for three years and over 600 performances. His rendition of This Is the Moment has been performed at numerous prestigious events including the 2001 Inaugural Gala for President George W. Bush, the Millennium Independence Day US Naval Revue aboard the USS JFK for President Clinton, the Millennium World Forum Conference with guest speaker Mikhail Gorbachev, the 1998 Goodwill Games, the New York City Mayor’s Inaugural Gala, the 1998 and 1999 NY Yankees World Series Celebration at City Hall, The Georgia Music Hall of Fame Awards Telecast, the Today Show, and Monday Night Football. Rob is currently starring around the world in the all-new Jekyll & Hyde: The Concert, where he just returned from a 16 show run in Seoul, South Korea’s Olympic Hall.
Rob also appeared on Broadway as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, and was chosen to lead the critically acclaimed National Touring Company to its history-making stop on Broadway. Most recently, he played the role of Kerchak in Disney’s Tarzan at the Richard Rodgers Theater. Rob starred as the sadistic Orin Scrivello D.D.S. in Little Shop of Horrors with Joey Fatone from *NSYNC on Broadway. Rob, also, had the pleasure of singing the role of the Count von Krolock in Jim Steinman’s Dance of the Vampires at the Minskoff Theater.
Off-Broadway, Rob created the roles of The Dancin’ Kid in Johnny Guitar and the hero Miles Hendon in The Prince and the Pauper.
As a vocalist and recording artist, Rob is a member of the platinum selling rock band, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. He has played in arenas across the country for up to 20,000 people. He also is lead vocalist for Jim Steinman’s The Dream Engine and is currently recording the debut album for his new progressive rock band Menrva Realm.
Most recently, Rob was given the honor of singing a duet with Tricia Yearwood in Frank Wildhorn's "The Civil War" for President Bush to benefit the Ford's Theatre in D.C.
Rob's musical director and pianist for the evening is Dan Riddle.
Born and raised in Dallas Texas, Dan Riddle became Music Director of the Musical Theater Department of Penn State University in 2005. He received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the Juilliard School and studied conducting and piano on a Fulbright grant in Vienna, Austria. He has appeared as a concert soloist with the orchestras of Dallas, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Monte Carlo, and Cairo, Egypt, among others. Mr. Riddle has conducted the Broadway productions of Les Miserables, Titanic, A Class Act, Oklahoma, Into the Woods, Momma Mia, Bombay Dreams and The Light in the Piazza. At Penn State he has conducted Cabaret, The Boyfriend, Urinetown, Parade, 1776, Baby, Big River, Company and Camelot. Mr. Riddle has recently been a guest conductor for the Youngstown and Hartford Symphony Orchestras. In 2009, he musically direct the Collegiate Premiere of The Light in the Piazza at Indiana University.
