Annual Scholarships
The following scholarships are awarded to current year high school graduates and continuing or transfer students. The list shows a variety of private and special interest scholarships established for ATC students. The applications are posted each spring or as they become available, in the Financial Aid Office. The amount and number of scholarships may vary each year according to private donations. To be eligible for the following scholarships, recipients must be enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) except where indicated other wise. Recipients must be enrolled in an accredited associate, diploma or certificate program with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, all applications will be reviewed by the Aiken Technical College Scholarship Selection Committee. All selected recipients will be notified by letter of their award. Recipients are also required to attend the Scholarship Benefactor/Recipient Breakfast held in January of each year. All students must complete an F.A.F.S.A. form.

Mike King Memorial Paramedic Scholarship - Up to $500 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled in the Paramedic Program
Recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA
Recipient must have recent clinic experience/on the job training as an intermediate late EMT
Carriage Hills Nursing Scholarship - Up to $500 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time or equivalent to full-time at ATC depending on their program of study
Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Recipient must be accepted into the nursing program (LPN or RN)
Recipient must write a letter of thank to Mr. Robby Bowles, Carriage Hills Living Center, 550 East Gate Drive, Aiken, SC 29803
Mr. and Mrs. William Kolosvary Scholarship - Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time at ATC or considered full time for the program that they are enrolled in at ATC
Recipient must not be eligible for Pell Grant, Life Scholarship or WIA. Lottery funded students are eligible Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Recipient must demonstrate a commitment to a strong work ethic through meaningful work experience
Recipient must demonstrate a commitment of volunteerism through performing meaningful community service without compensation
Recipient is encouraged to attend the annual Benefactor/Recipient Breakfast held each year in January.

Marlin L. Knight Memorial Nursing Scholarship Endowment – TBA in 2011-2012
Recipient must be enrolled full-time at ATC or considered full-time in the nursing program
Recipient must be accepted into the Nursing Program
Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Recipient must be a resident of Aiken County
Recipient must write a thank you note to Mrs. Judy Knight, 260 Hill and Dell Drive, Warrenville, SC 29851
Diane M. Murrell Early Childhood Development Scholarship - Up to $500 awarded only for the 2010-2011 academic year
Recipient must be enrolled full-time at ATC
Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Preference given to a second-year student enrolled in Early Childhood Development
Recipient must send a thank you to Mrs. Diane M. Murrell (PO Box 183, Edgefield, SC 29824)
R.E.A.D Scholarship - Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled in a development reading course
Recipient must complete the ATC Foundation R.E.A.D Scholarship Application and turn it in to Thomasina Hughey for committee review and selection of recipient. Ms. Hughey will then forward a copy of the application of the recipient to the Financial Aid office and the ATC Foundation office. Deadline for submittal is August 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester each year.
Recipient must write a thank you note to the donor, Thomasina Hughey, ATC Instructor.
Aiken Lions Club - Up to 2 $400 per year
Recipient must be enrolled in the LPN Transition Program and one in the ADN Program
Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Recipient will become an active member of the Aiken Lions Club
(dues to be paid by the Club while attending ATC)
American Association of University Woman – Up to $2,500 awarded annually for books
Recipients must be females
Recipients must provide a list of books that includes the name of book and price and have it signed by the ATC Bookstore representative
Ashley J. Little Family Endowment - up to $3,000 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full time
Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
Recipient must show evidence, either in the past or present time, of having demonstrated:
A commitment to a strong work ethic through meaningful work experience in the public or private sector
A commitment of volunteerism through performing meaningful community service without compensation
Beta Delta Kappa Gamma – Up to $250 awarded annually
Recipients must be a female student
Recipients must be enrolled in the degree transfer program and have plans on attending a four year institution majoring in K-12 education
Donald Bleasdale Memorial Book – Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient must be a full-time student
Recipient must have a GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Recipient must demonstrate a financial need
Bridgestone Aiken County Facility – 4 Up to $625 awarded annually
Recipients must enroll in one of the Industrial, Engineering, or Occupational Technology Programs
Preference given to recent high school graduates
Recipients must demonstrate financial need
John D. Bryan Criminal Justice – Up to $500 awarded annually
Recipient must be employed full-time in the field of Criminal Justice or be a full-time student in the Criminal Justice Program
Henry Pickens Cato II Endowed Scholarship Fund - up to $800 annually
Recipient must demponstrate financial need
Preference for scholarship awards will be given to students who show evidence, either in the past or present time, of having demonstrated:
A commitment to a strong work ethic through meaningful work experience in the public or private sector
A commitment of volunteerism through performing meaningful community service without compensation
Students who have previously been selected as a Henry Pickens Cato II scholar shall be considered for renewal of the scholarship award so long as the student remains in good standing (academic or otherwise) as determined by the school
Hilda Delionbach Nursing Scholarship – Up to $400 awarded annually
Recipient must be accepted into the ADN program
Recipient must demonstrate successful academic performance
Scholarship will be awarded without regard to financial need
George Dickey Scholarship Endowment - Up to $400 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time
Preference is given to single parents
Recipient must demonstrate financial need
Energy Solutions Engineering Technology – 3 Up to $500 awarded annually
Recipient must enroll in one of the following programs, Industrial, Engineering or Occupational with emphasis in chemical/environmental technology (preference given to latter)
Faternal Order of Police - Lodge #6 Scholarship – 1 up to $200 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program
Recipient must reside in Aiken County
Recipient must not be eligible for Pell or Life funding, but can receive Lottery Funds
Vernon R. Ford Incentive – Up to $4,000 awarded annually
Written recommendation by ATC faculty is required
Recipient must be within one full-time semester of graduation
Recipient cannot receive federal or state aid that meets or exceeds their cost of tuition
James Geer/Phi Theta Kappa – Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society
Recipient must demonstrate high academic success
Recipient must be actively involved in phi Theta Kappa activities
Recipient must be enrolled full time
Carrie Haller Memorial Center Nursing Scholarship – Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient must be accepted and enrolled full-time in the ADN program
Larry D. Hawes Memorial Scholarship – 1 at $400 awarded annually
Recipient must be full-time, second year student
Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA
Recipient must be enrolled in the General Education Certificate, Associate of Arts, or Associate of Science Program
Hospital Auxiliary of Aiken County – 4 up to $1000 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time or considered full-time for the program which they are enrolled
Recipient must be accepted into one of the following programs:
Radiologic Technology
Surgical Technology
ADN or LPN - Nursing
Expanded Dental Assisting Program
Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
One recipient will be selected from each of the programs listed above
Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter 255 Scholarship – Up to $500 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time at ATC
Recipient must be a veteran or a child, grandchild or spouse of a veteran
Horace Mann Insurance Agency Scholarship - 2 awarded at $500
This scholarship is for High School Students in Aiken County that are participating in dual enrollment at ATC.
Student must complete and have approved a FAFSA Waiver Form for Dual Enrollment
Student must have a written recommendation from their school principal with current transcripts attached and a financial needs anaylsis statement
Recipient must be enrolled in two (2) classes at ATC during a semester
Recipient must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Rudy Mason Endowment – Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time
Recipient must reside in Aiken County
Recipient must be a recent high school graduate or continuing ATC student
Recipient must have and maintain a 3.0 GPA
Recipient must demonstrate financial need
Travis Miller Memorial Scholarship - up to $1160 awarded annually
Must be enrolled in Basic EMT through the ATC Training & Business Development Division
Must demonstrate a financial need
Must pass Workkeys
Must have a background check
Bob Moldenhauer Human Services Scholarship – Up to $200 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled in a Human Services Associate Degree or Certificate Program
Recipient must have a GPA of 3.0 or better from High School or College
D.A. Norton Endowment – Up to $400 awarded annually
Recipient must meet minimum annual scholarship requirements
Rogers Book Scholarship – Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient can be a credit or non-credit student
Recipient must attach a list of class required books along with the cost of each book
Sand River Women's Club – Up to $500 awarded annually
Recipient must be a non-traditional female student and a resident of Aiken County
Recipient must be enrolled at least six (6) hours and have a 2.5 GPA
SGA Mascot Book – Up to $500 awarded annually
Recipient is selected by the Student Activities Director
Frances Smothers Memorial Book Scholarship – 1 up to $200 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time in the Early Childhood Development program
Nancy Moore-Thurmond – Up to $400 awarded annually
Recipient must meet minimum annual scholarship requirements
WSI-SRS Team Criminal Justice – 2 Up to $1,000 awarded annually
First priority given to children/grandchildren of WSI-SRS Team employees
Recipient must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Recipient must be enrolled full-time
Recipient must enroll in the Criminal Justice Associate Degree Program
Maurice Williams/Aiken County Home Builders Association – Up to $1,000 awarded annually
Recipient must be a full time student at ATC
Recipient must be enrolled in classes associated with the building industry, ie: banking, HVAC, Electrical, etc.
Recipient must be an incoming high school graduate or first time freshman
Preference given to a child, grandchild or employee of an Aiken County Home Builders Association member
Women of Woodside Book Scholarship – 1 Up to $300 awarded annually
Recipient must be enrolled full-time
Recipient must be a female student
